Victoria Falls Carnival organizers have demanded refunds from South African artists DJ Maphorisa, Kabza De Small and Zimbabwean ShaSha after they failed to show up for their performances.
Famed for their Amapiano hits, the trio was expected to set a carnival mood but they were nowhere to be seen.

“DJ Maphorisa, Kabza and Shasha were fully aware and paid in full for the Victoria Falls Carnival event on the 29th of April 2022 in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe,” reads a statement seen by The NewsReport.
“Booking confirmations, flight confirmation and accommodation confirmations were sent to them as agreed and emails were sent to them several times before, for some reason, they did not show up at the airport on the day of travel,” the statement further reads.
The organizers argue they honored all contractual obligations but still the headlining acts did not show up.
On top of the refunds, which must be paid in full they are also demanding an apologies to fans who felt jilted. “Above and beyond we tried to communicate with the artists to change the date of the performance but we still could not get hold of them despite all the effort and all means of communication on our side,” reads the statement.
“The artists have shown total disregard to the contract and this is unacceptable.” The trip has been asked to pay back the full booking fee, flights and accommodation.
Local acts like Gemma Griffiths, Takura, Asaph and high riding dancehall NuttyO among others did not disappoint.
Bulawayo based, Ngoma Ingoma also delivered an electric opening act, setting up the stage for a weekend of partying in the heart of Victoria Falls.
