THE late dancehall chanter, Souljah Love continues to produce hits from from the grave, with a brand new single that inspires gratitude featuring Vabati VaJehovah entitled Handipere Power.
Handipere Power, part of the NashTV Gospel Vibes featuring various artists inspires gratitude to the listener to thank God for the life.
The track, a blend of Zimdancehall and choral gospel from Vabati VaJehovah echoes the sentiments of a tormented soul who chooses to thank God.
“Ndotenda hupenyu ihwohwo huripo.” loosely translated I thank God for the little i have, encourages music lovers to maintain gratitude in-spite of the troubles of life.
“Ndatambudzika sehwai yakarasika. Asi ndotenda hupenyu ihwohwo huripo,” Soul Jah Love laments in a song believed to have been recorded during his last days when he battled with diabetes.
He continues in an apparent dig at his critics: “Nyangwe mukati ndapera segore rakapera ndoramba ndichingouya segore rinouya.”
The song mirrors a troubled soul, with the chanter apparently crying for help albeit laced in a dancehall tune.
Known for his ability to write catchy but deep lyrical content, Soul Jah Love continues to rule from the grave.
Arguably one of the best chanters to ever grace the entertainment scene died last on 16 February and was declared a national hero.
Since his death several hits have been released, testimony to his rich catalogue.
